The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) has announced that domain registrations will no longer be free from February 2008. No price tags have been placed on this service and all the modalities that will be involved have not been communicated with the public yet.

I hope this is a step in the right direction as it will make NIRA answerable to its customers. Hopefully, intending registrants will not have to put up with elongated waiting periods to register domains.
